hundsdieker variants

i was wondering if anybody had any references or knowledge of variants of the hundsdieker reaction which use alternate oxidizing agents (to Br2) so as instead of producing a alkyl bromide, produce some other substitution.

for hypothetical example:
Pb(OAc)4+ 2 BrSSBr --> 2MeSSMe +PbBr4+4C02
